Scott Pilgrim

Ahh, I wish there were a whole genre of films like that :D

Alex also rates this month: Inception (which he saw in a cinema in Zambia) and Toy Story 3 (which men cry at or something).

x

  • justplainweird

omgg i wish life was like that film :O i ended up going to see it three times, but it is that awesome that i dont care x)

  • http://twitter.com/T_C_K_T_I Connor Norris

    LOVED THAT FILM SOOOOOOOOOOOO EPIC!!!!!!!
    i cried at toy story 3 :3:3

  • insertnamehere

If you don't cry (or at the very least, wanted to cry but didn't in an attempt to look manly) at the end of Toy Story 3, you have no heart.

  • http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/starrideremily Emily

Inception- they're falling. they're falling. they're falling. the car is falling. they're falling. falling. falling. falling. fall- WE GET IT ALREADY! yeesh.

  • Rosie-roo

I went to see this (it was indeed awesome) today and in the middle i had this sudden thought that Alex Day would like this. As I have never met you i think this may officially make me a slight stalker and i may now have to stop reading your blog and watching you on youtube because it scared me a little!

At 18 I like to think that I'm beyond fangirling, but clearly I'm wrong!

  • Jenni

Need. To. See. Inception. It's killing me…

On another note, toy story 3. 5…no, 500 stars. amazing. had almost the whole cinema in tears!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZB6BT2TJANNZPV5F3T4L2H5PSM Chiara

    Inception = <3

And based on descriptions by people lots of other people and this, I may have to go see Scott Pilgrim, although at first it seemed really strange…

  • http://twitter.com/BBC_Fangirl Laura Blakemore

Inception and Toy Story 3 are two of my favourite films at the moment.
I'm going to see Scott Pilgrim tomorrow – I have high hopes for this film, it looks amazing. :)

  • http://youtube.com/rebeccainthetardis Rebecca

I LOVED that film… I'm not a massive gamer at all but I love the whole nerdiness of it and the quirky lines and how fast-paced it was.

  • Muahaha

I LOVE all of these movies. And I just watched your new video with your grandparents and I instantly fell in love with them. I never really had any grandparents so I have an annoying habit of falling in love with other peoples pretty quickly especially when they have an amazing talent like building things out of matchsticks. Favorite quote, “How many people do you think are on youtube?” “10? 20?” ” no, over 200,000″ “Oh my goodness!”. so cute! :) thanks for sharing!

  • Charli

Ah I am going to see Scott Pilgrim tomorrow at the O2! Really looking forward to it now that I know you like it. x

  • http://twitter.com/itiselizabeth Elizabeth Creaghan

Agreed. Scott Pilgrim was amazing, Toy Story 3 was too but in a different way and Inception was interesting but not as good as some people hyped it up to be. :)

  • Reno42

    I have moments like that too, where I'm like 'That is so like Alex' or something and then I think 'Oh my god, I have a problem.' XD But I suppose if you've been watching somebody's videos for years and reading their blog…it's only normal.. right? ^^;

  • meli

    scoptt pilgrim was AWESOMEE :D

  • camewel

I saw Inception and Toy Story 3 too!
And I'm guessing that that's a recommendation for Scott Pilgrim, cause I can't really tell for definite.

Now go go Cam's quick ratings because I'm bored and have nothing else to do!

Inception required too much thought to be a movie, it was more of a psychological challenge. I do understand what was going on now, but the ending was just really annoying.

Toy Story 3 didn't really go anywhere, it was just a bunch of non-events and a couple of nearly non-events, a problem that was never quite solved, and then a big dramatic ending that you were supposed to cry at. (Gasp, Toy Story 3 criticism! What is going on?)

Cam beats Alex to rating! Woo.

On an unrelated side note, it seems to me that going to Zambia has changed you for the better in the most minor of ways. It just seems you're appreciating the little things more, rather than just appreciating the big things.

On another unrelated side note, I showed my mum your music (Parrot Stories to be precise). She said it was good, but a bit amateurish. I think she was referring to the rather basic style to your music (which is great by the way, it adds a simple and amazing spin to everything you do).

Oh, and I got my sister to buy one of your songs, and one of my friends to buy most of them. (And Chameleon Circuit's too. We could do with some more of those…)

And I've also started listening to Tom's songs. You both deserve to be in the charts, really. (And probably Ed too, but I haven't had the time to listen to his songs yet).

(This comment was longer than your post. Wow.)

  • Kate

You have no heart if you didn't cry at the end of toy story!

  • http://twitter.com/koritsimou Princess Mackinoo

Agreed. Scott Pilgrim was great and I really like Inception. I am going to see Toy Story 3 tomorrow night, with my big brother (which I think is a little bit adorable, but apt) and I am so psyched.

  • isabel.B

i liked that movie a lot. the fighting got kind of repetitive though, it would have been ridiculous if they had put in just one more fight.

  • Cindy

    scott pilgrim is awesome

  • arica.

“Do you know this one girl with hair like this? ~~/_~~~” Yes. That's Ramona Flowers.”

  • Danny

crap, i have no heart then….

  • Rachel_claire

I cried at Toy Story 3. My family thought I was strange, but it was really emotional in a good way.

  • Sdager305

Sadly “Scott Pilgrim” still hasn't made the 60 million it cost to make, so I sat go take all your friends to the theatre and see it 15 more times, they definitely deserve it. I'd also recommend “Kickass”, though no where near as good as “Scott Pilgrim” due to the fact that it features Nicholas Cage, it is still quite fun and very well directed. Another amazing one based on a graphic novel is “Ghost World”, though not an action film is still features the same kind of wonderful heart that “Scott Pilgrim” had.

  • princeofglow

Oh, I “lesbians” Scott Pilgrim. ROFLcopter. :P

  • http://twitter.com/BlindSnowstorm Bailey Brady

Scott Pilgrim. :3 I'm supposed to be seeing that this Friday. I can't wait! It sounds amazing.

I don't care how manly you are, Alex–if you don't cry by the end of Toy Story 3, there's something wrong with you. Even if your eyes are just watering from the crazy vivid colors–there should be some sort of tearing in the eye. That movie was practically spotless (except for the ending, as if it was real life, Andy would have *SPOILER* taken most if not all of his treasured memory toys and stuck them in the attic/stored them away. At least he would have kept Woody, the toy his DAD originally owned. =_= But I digress.)

And Inception… that movie is just absolutely trippy but incredibly brilliant.

  • Tayla

Do this for every month! Plz! It was kwl XD

  • TheOneAndOnlyMK

Can't wait to see Scott Pilgrim. Gonna be in Ireland next week, it's not out yet here in Germany.
Inception is a awesome. But I want to give you one advise: “Don't go to the loo, while you watch it!”
Do you listen to Mark Kermode? (men cry…)

  • Chandnii

AHH i agree, scott pilgrim is AWESOMEE!!
    xx

  • Allie

Inception was an awesome movie! You can speculate about it, talk about it, think about it for hours on end after watching it.
    Toy Story 3 <3
It's not often that movies make me cry. But this did. It is special.

  • Steph

I loved that movie it was awesome i freaked out everytime they shot it at a
place I knew ! Please Alex come to Toronto :)

  • Harry, the awesomest

Dammit, I wanna see Inception and Scott Pilgrim. D:

Toy Story 3 was, more or less, the perfect movie. First movie to make me cry.

  • Katie

Me and my friends went to see inception for the second time the other day :3 It took us two times to understand it xD
We thought Tom Hardy was so awesome in it xD

  • Harry Casey

SCOTT PILGIM ISIN’T OT IN DOWNPATRICK CINEMA rawwr =D

  • http://twitter.com/amzina Amy F

Scott Pilgrim is awesome (Ramona stole my idea for what to do with my hair >_>) – I found Kick-Ass was a good complement to it, being that I watched it on the train up on the way to the cinema.

  • Jejoss

I agree. Nicholas Cage ruins everything he touches.

  • utkuu

Scott Pilgrim is one of the best movies I've seen. Glad you liked it.

  • Paige

SCOTT PILGRIM WAS THE BEST MOVIE OF MY LIFE.

  • Zoe

I reallyreallyreally want to see Scott Pilgrim, but I have 0 money.

But Inception and Toy Story 3 are like my two favourite movies. I cried for Toy Story. <3

  • Lydia

Yup, I cried at Toy Story 3. It was a great movie.

….I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim yet, but I've seen a virtual thumbs up from both you and Charlie, so I might check it out.

  • Elise

    Alex…..I don't know how to start…
I love you man! You are an awesome person like….unbeliveble
like I don't know how to explain it. Anyways I've seen you alot in London
and I never get a chance to say hello. I bought that Harry moon shirt lol and
I am always looking out for you man…but not stalkerish like.
    See you around

    Elise :D

  • Jasmine

    Inception was amazing! :D
I went to see Scott Pilgrim yesterday, but ended up watching the special edition of Avatar <3

  • LucyUpton x

I went to see Scott Pilgrim, Thought it was amazing! It was really funny, most of the people in our showing didn't like it but i think they just didn't get the humor of it. Also I cried in Toy Story, it was really good (Y) xx

  • LookOutWorld

Oh wow… um, people can be a bit… strange *cough* on here…
Anyway, Scott Pilgrim: freakin' lesbians it. One of the best films i've ever seen. And I loved the way they made it all like one big video game… and I also thought the casting was amazing. The guy who plays Steven Stills is like cartoon Steven come to life. Fucking epic. But I think you have to be a complete and utter nerd in order to enjoy it's true amazing-ness… most people I know just liked the humor…
I haven't got round to seeing Inception. To be honest, don't really want to, the trailer looked good but the name didn't cut it for me, not like 'The Hole: In 3D' *cue snigger*. I'm sorry, that was dirty…
Toy Story was indead, also epic. I didn't cry (should I have done?) but it was so… brill (I'm running out of adjectives here) I went out and brought *Cough* another *cough* poster. Forsooth, and lack-a-day, I do indead feel rather sad now…
Err… yeah. No idea where that came from. Sorry. And um… Auf Wiedersehen?

  • xSoupyTwist

I still need to go watch this!!!

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/BCY75G4O6RVSVAG3OKFRG7P2F4 Olivia

  • http://twitter.com/live4music3823 Mary Pedraza

My dad cried at the end of Toy Story 3, and I did too. Plus, I was at the AMC at Disnet World, which made it that much better to see. And Inception, SO EPIC!!!!!

  • dondonbridge

Isn't it tragic that Scott Pilgrim won't be showing in my country?

  • http://twitter.com/amzina Amy F

Very. Get yourself a better country.

  • http://youtube.com/user/naddielikesoranges Naddie-

I NEED to watch these films!! I still haven't yet because I'm so skint :'(

  • http://twitter.com/robotgurl Celine

Only the manly men will cry while watching Toy Story 3. FACT
