DFTBA just launched an internal monthly chart thing, which is quite cool:

Holding On is at #8 in the singles chart, and Parrot Stories is at #4 in albums – beaten only by Painfully Mainstream and This Machine Pwns N00bs (which were released last month) and Chameleon Circuit (which is still selling ridiculously well). Exciting stuff :D
My aim for TWIM is to get it to number 1 on the albums, which will mean absolutely nothing, but will be quite cool as a personal goal =)
(I should also mention that Blink, Exterminate Regenerate and An Awful Lot Of Running by CC are in the singles charts at 3, 5 and 6 respectively, which is nice, and that Trock On! is number 6 in the album chart. Disclosure: I’m in a band that writes songs about Doctor Who.)
Video soon – I’ll either be talking about my experiences applying for Mensa, my old Apple Store job, shopping at Topman … god my life is boring. Anyway, one of those.

I cant believe CC is still selling really well! It's an awesome CD and I'm glad Parrot Stories is up there as well! I think you need to do a music video for all of your songs… I only fell in love with Don't Look Back because of the video :P I can't wait to hear more of your music! You are awesome! :D x
the singles chart is dominated by chameleon circuit and venetian princess it's funny.
My favorite chamcirc songs are Journey's end and Gallifreyan History. they are sooo awesome. Ginger Chris has the deepest voice ever. It's soo weird you don't picture it like that when you look at him.
Then Davros was like “NO! Come hang in my vault!” BOOGIE!!!!!!! sorry that song is f-ing brilliant

congrats !!! So gald Chameleon Circuit and Parrot Stories are doing so great ! You're an amazing singer and songwriter. Fallen in love with all your songs ! (And since I'm in the US, not many know bout DW, via the CC songs, it's quite fun to go around singing them with my 2 friends who watch. =D ) Thanks for all the great music.

That's interesting that the chart feature exists, but I hope it won't lead to needless and petty competition amongst DFTBA artists, since everyone of you guys is awesome and very unique musically. Of course, you are all adults and, from what I can tell due to Youtube and blogs, etc., is that you are all much more mature than most young people and definitely capable of being decent humans to one another. Alternatively, the feature might generate constructive competition, making you guys compete by becoming better and constantly evolving your music.
Personally, I love DFTBA because it's a shining example of what young people are capable of doing.
while those are all wonderful video ideas (at least from you cuz you're hilarious and awesome) Twilight! do more chapters!!! even the non-fangirls love it! seriously. your name came up in a Skype chat w/ my friends yesterday (who know who you are and have your music, but aren't here writing to you on your blog. [i.e. not fangirls/ boys]) and they were like, “i LOVE the Twilight review he's doing!”

Alex, i was wondering about your album titles. I think you've said you like to get them from books, so i'm curious as to what books they're from. Like how in Holding On, there's that line about Leo from Stargirl…Do the names of your albums also come from that book?
It's nice to hear Chameleon Circuit is still doing well, as more or less the whole album cover the top half of my top 25 most played songs. I can't wait for your new album to come out, it's definitely going to get to number 1 ^_^ <33

VLR was the most amazing thing in the whole wide world. I want it back, even if a new episode never gets made ever again, we should still be able to listen to the old ones.

Parrot Stories is a quote from A Streetcar Named Desire, and it's explained in the CD booklet. The World Is Mine isn't a book quote though, it's just the name of one of the songs, and I thought it would be a cool album title :)

I didn't download them because I was perfectly happy just listening to them while I was sitting in front of my computer. I never realised you would take it away from me, you big meanie. Quick question – why are you punishing me for this by condemning me to a life without VLR? The files are too big for anyone to email to anybody.
Because by the time I found you guys and then found out about VLR they weren't available for download anymore. I've actually never gotten to listen to any of them, and it's driving me a bit crazy…

whoa, i am a total doctor who geek and i love the music you guys make about Doctor Who its Epic! i like sing all the songs to myself and everyone is like what you singing. Yea i think you need to wash your mouth out with soap, you swear alot in your video but it's funny swearing so i'll let you off. I think you sound like Kate Nash which is not a bad thing cause she is brill too, i'm not saying you sound like a girl, i'm just saying your lyrics are sometimes random and so are hers :-) its not an insult just saying :-). Well i hope you are having a rather good 2010 and you should come to Scotland and play altho you might get Haggis chucked at you! but don't worry we english will stand together…would be funny if you aren't from England! :P.
