I’m not gonna bother cluttering up the internet with my opinion of the iPad, for the same reason I refuse to answer the question “what do you think of the Eleventh Doctor?” – I haven’t seen it (or him) in action yet, so what reasonable opinion do you expect me to form?
(I will say, though, that of the unfounded criticism that has so far been flung the iPad’s way from people with no authority at all, “it can’t be used as a phone” is probably the most stupid. I mean, no, it can’t. Of course it can’t. It doesn’t need to. Neither does your dishwasher, does that bother you as well? What does it take? You really wanna walk around with a ten-inch screen plastered to the side of your face? Idiots.)
Now they’ve used iPod and iPad, do you think they’ll work through all the vowels? iPud next? Okay, I’m done.

as for the iPad, i couldn't agree more. until you've had it in your hand, you can't judge it. and really? people want it to be a phone? that's like wanting phone functionality with your Kindle. people come up with the stupidest things! :/
I remarked that it looked just like an oversized iPhone to my mom last night…and she goes…”Yeah! and can you make calls on it?!” I was so confused. I was like…”um…no.” and continued with my observation and she went “You can't even make phone calls on it!” I was like…Mom…it's just like a laptop with a touchscreen instead of a keyboard…..you don't use it to make calls…. and she was like “that's what I'm saying!” I don't think i've ever had a more confusing conversation…ever.

I'm going to have to agree with all of your commentary about “well it can't be used as a phone.” Because if you already have a phone, why do you want a 10-inch one that does the SAME THING as your iPhone, just on a bigger screen?
