The WAVs Are Mine!

I have my album, fully mastered and pretty, playing in my iTunes right nao :D And I’m about to send the WAVs to Alan so he can begin the ordering process. (I called his copy of the album ‘The WAVs Are Yours’.)

Since Alan hasn’t heard the album yet, we considered just opening GarageBand and letting it run for half an hour while I play long chords and old songs I wrote five years ago, every now and then having Tom bang the wall for percussion or just call out “play it louder”. And then I send it to Alan and see if we can convince him that this is my new album. I didn’t run with that thought, but if I had, it would have been brilliant.

Also, for our performance on The Zone, I’m just going to be singing to the backing track of Georgia, with Ed miming the guitar part along with it instead of playing it live, because they have restrictions on time. As a result, I’m considering having us both play inflatable guitars, to fully emphasise the not-live bits of the instrumentation. Thoughts?

  • that sounds awesome! you should do that! XD

totally go for the inflatable guitars =D

YES play the inflayable guitars. or other objects like broom sticks/vacuums/home appliances. Or even air guitar! that would be so funny!

also, thanks for being honest with us and saying it not gonna be live instead of not telling us and trying to pass it off as live and incredible. You are so great!

    Brilliant!!!

    Go for the guitars.
I just watched Alans DFTBA tour video, and even though I bought your CD off of iTunes, I'm going to buy the physical copy along with your new album in june. Your music is just so awesome.

If it has the word 'inflatable' in it, its cool =] Go for it!
  • Chally
Go for it! :D It's great when musicians are honest about whether they're miming or not.

    yes yes yes!!!!
Cheesy to the MAX but still awesome to watch lol
  • The playing not-live is very Muse.
    I like it. :)

I think you should have sent the beating on the wall and stuff to Alan. I think that would have been highly amusing. And he should have recorded his reaction to your new album.

However, on a more serious note, I think the inflatable guitars would be absolutely epic. Especially if you aren't playing live, you could at least have fun with it =)

    Absolutely brilliant.

inflatable guitars? yeah i have a few from crappy grade school fairs, right next to the real guitar i never learned to play. restrictions on time are made of solid suck, but The Zone will be nice :)

broom sticks. play broom sticks. or a vacuum cleaner hose. classic.
or just inflatable guitars. those work too.

    (congrats on finishing the album:)
  • Honesty is the best policy... as long as they are either really really cool inflatables or really really naff ones then it'll be a good look :)
  • Sam
Just pretend to play a real guitar. Looks so much better.
  • Lilly.
I'm not a fan of inflatable guitars. Doesn't look professional or classy.
  • Emma
Haha that would be great :)
BTW I don't know if you know or not, but you are featured on the YouTube homepage, most popular entertainment video! Congrats :D
