About two years ago, I wrote a song about what it’s like for video game characters when we pause the game, or leave the controller alone but leave the game switched on. I liked the idea of a character who is fully conscious and aware of his ‘destiny’ in the game, but can’t fulfil it because all he can do is wait for your return. Anyway it’s the first song I’ve ever written on piano, playing it all fully myself. Here is the music video :)

I really love childhood month. I love how all the badges are for meaningful things but not necessarily expensive things. So, kite-flying is something I did once with my dad in our local park in Romford and I remember it being fun :) There’s not much story there, to be honest, I’m just sharing that I have the badge (and the pin to go with it) :D

I’ve been more productive today than I have been in weeks and it’s entirely down to the weather. It’s affected me in loads of ways I didn’t consciously register at first … I’m walking straighter and taller because I’m not huddling to keep warm, for example, so I feel naturally more confident as I go about my day. It’s light for longer so even when I’ve done loads of things it still feels like I have lots of day left to accomplish. But the biggest thing is that I’m unlimited. I love feeling unlimited. My job as a professional stuff-maker rather relies on me believing when I try something new that I can absolutely do it - and, right now, the world is reinforcing that belief. I don’t have to wrap up, I don’t have to fight against the world; it is beckoning me forward with sunshine kisses that trace my skin and welcome me in. I’d forgotten what it was like to be sunny - and I’m going to savour every second.

Good morning sunshine. I hope that you’re well. :)

I’d really love it if you have a spare 30 minutes to listen to this podcast I recorded. It’s all the usual stuff people say when they interview me - “musical innovator” etc - but for once I actually managed to be really honest and elaborate in my answers and say “look, it wouldn’t have happened without my YouTube audience, I’m nothing special, and it took a damn lot of hard work to get where I did”. I really enjoyed chatting to Lewis for it and I really hope you get something out of it :)
